Stealthy & Healthy

Food & fitness for your consideration // A summer libation for those warm summer nights

We hope everyone had a really relaxing and fun Memorial Day weekend! I know I did; spending time with family and friends was wonderful, and of course, taking some time to remember the brave men and women who have dedicated their lives to our country on Memorial Day. We were lucky to have a sunny and hot day on Saturday, but Sunday brought around scattered storms, misplacing the garden shed at my parents house! [Luckily everyone was safely indoors]

So since this week has been flying by due to the Holiday, we can look forward to getting right back into relaxation mode. Hopefully June will bring many warm summer nights with beautiful sunsets giving us good reason to enjoy the aptly named “Tequila Sundown

It is a rather simple recipe, but when you use fresh squeezed orange juice and pomegranate juice, the result is very refreshing and a nice change from Summer Shandy.

Ingredients: – serves 1

  1. 1 oz. pomegranate juice
  2. 1.5 oz. Tequila
  3. 4.oz fresh squeezed orange juice
  4. Ice
  5. Fruit juicer

In a highball glass, pour tequila and orange juice over ice. Add pomegranate slowly to create layered effect. Garnish with fresh pomegranate seeds and orange peel. Lastly, kick back and watch the sun go down.

If you don’t have a fruit juicer, hand squeezed orange juice and Pomwonderful pomegranate juice will do just fine.

Don’t forget! This coming weekend is Little Red Riding Hood and Moxie’s Brooke and Deb will be there at the Expo!

Are you going to be there? Let us know!

Stay Sassy…
