Moxie Trends

What we love this week // Now that the sun is a shinin’ Flipside Hats keep your eyes shaded and your style fresh!

For the last two weeks one of our founders, Brooke, has been representing Moxie Cycling on the West coast first at the Seattle and then at the Portland Bike Expo. She had an outstanding experience at both places and we will be posting a Behind the Scenes feature about the trip soon, but in the meantime, here is one of the standout companies that appealed to us that we’d like to recommend!

Flipsides newest styles for Spring!

Flipside Hats, now a family business, is based out of Portland, Oregon and was started in a basement by one woman in 2002 and officially launched in 2005. The reason these hats are truly unique is because they are hand-crafted using “up-cycled” materials, or materials that would have ordinarily been tossed as scraps by the big clothing manufacturers. Flipside Hats says “By re-using the world’s pre-consumer excess, the U.S.-based company aims to rid the world of waste while inspiring a generation to reduce their impact on the planet.” We at Moxie think that a mantra like that is reason enough to don one of these hats, but, they are in fact also super stylish. Brooke’s sister bought 3 on the spot!

They have a variety of styles tailored to the season for the ladies, men, and the little ones. There’s even a hounds-tooth style that would match our France Ave. jersey perfectly. And don’t feel selfish buying yourself more than just one style because a portion of your purchase goes back to local schools and organizations.
